Corporate and Foundation Support
Corporations and foundations are important partners in ensuring NJIT's success as a research university. In recent years, grants from the private sector have helped to provide:
- Funding for new academic programs and courses in computational biology, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical engineering and information technology
- See money for cutting-edge research in asynchronous learning, non-invasive technology for monitoring diabetes, assistive technology for the deaf, prevention of sepsis and home modifications to meet the needs of the aged and handicapped
- Resources for capital improvements and equipment, including the building of New Jersey School of Architecture and the Keck Laboratory for Electro-Hydrodynamics of Suspensions
- Student scholarships, fellowships and internships
- Faculty chairs
- Seminars and lecture series
- Pre-college programs and other initiatives that open the doors of opportunity to the disadvantaged
- Gifts-in-kind
NJIT supports the needs of the business community by serving as a source for employee recruitment, co-ops and internships, professional education and corporate training, and access to incubator facilities and other technological resources.
